Configuring Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 to Connect Mailbox via IMAP

  1. Open Outlook
  2. On the File tab, click Account Settings. The Account Settings window is displayed. The E-mail tab is opened by default showing all your set up e-mail accounts (if there any).
  3. Click New. The Add New E-mail Account Wizard starts. You are prompted to Choose E-mail Account.
  4. Select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types radio button at the bottom of the Wizard screen, and then click Next.
  5. On the Choose Service page, select Internet E-mail, and then click Next. The Internet E-mail Settings window is displayed. Provide the following information in the available fields:
    • Your Name: type in your name that will be shown to your e-mail recipients in the From: field.
    • E-mail AddressEMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au
    • Account Type: select IMAP.
    • Incoming mail serverexchange.openconnect.com.au
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP)smtpauth.openconnect.com.au
    • User NameEMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au
    • Password: type in your password.
  6. Click More Settings. The multi-tabbed window is displayed.
  7. Move to the Outgoing Server tab, and then select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox. Then click Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  8. Move to the Advanced tab. Advanced properties of your e-mail account are displayed. Configure them as follows:
    • Under Incoming server (IMAP), next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select SSL in the drop-down list.
    • Under Outgoing server (SMTP), next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select TLS in the drop-down list.
  9. Click OK to save your changes.
  10. On the Add New Account page, click Next. After Outlook tests your account, click Close to close the Test Account Settings dialog box.
  11. Click Next, and then click Finish.

 

How to configure Microsoft Outlook Express to connect mailbox via IMAP

  1. Start Outlook Express. Choose Tools > Accounts from the menu on the top.
  2. Click Add button and choose Mail.
  3. Display Name: Type your mailbox display name Administration and click Next.
  4. E-mail address: Type your e-mail address EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au and click Next.
  5. Choose My incoming server is a IMAP server from the dropdown box. Fill in mail server information:
    • Incoming mail serverexchange.openconnect.com.au
    • Outgoing mail serversmtpauth.openconnect.com.au
    • Click Next.
  6. Fill in logon information:
    • Account name: Type your login EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au.
    • Password: Type your mailbox password.
    • Click Next, then click Finish.
  7. Select mail account named exchange.openconnect.com.au and click Properties button.
  8. Switch to the Servers tab.
    In the Outgoing Mail Server check My server requires authentication.
  9. Switch to the Advanced tab.
    In the Server Port Numbers check both This server requires a secure connection (SSL). Click OK.

 

Configuring Outlook 2011 for Mac to Connect Mailbox via IMAP

  1. Open Outlook 2011 for Mac
  2. Open Tools > Accounts...
  3. On the displayed page click on the + sign in the bottom left corner and then click E-mail...
  4. Fill out the following fields:
    • Enter EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au in the E-mail address field.
    • Enter your password to the Password field.
    • Enter EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au in the Username field.
    • In the Type drop-down select IMAP.
    • Enter exchange.openconnect.com.au in the Incoming server field.
    • Check the Use SSL to connect (recommended) checkbox under the Incoming server field.
    • Enter smtpauth.openconnect.com.au in the Outgoing server field.
    • Check the Use SSL to connect (recommended) checkbox under the Outgoing server field.
  5. Click Add Account.
  6. Enter your name in the Account description field.
  7. Click More Options...
  8. In the Authentication drop-down select Use Incoming Server Info.
  9. Click OK.

 

How to Configure Outlook to Connect Exchange Server

We recommend using the latest Outlook version to enjoy the whole set of features offered by Exchange Server. 
Please select most suitable variant of configuration.

 

Outlook 2007/2010/2013 Configuration by Autodiscovery

 

Outlook 2007/2010/2013 supports Autodiscovery feature that requires entering just your mailbox e-mail address and password and get connection to your mailbox automatically configured.

  1. Open Start > Control Panel > Mail. Mail Setup dialog appears. 
  2. Click Show Profiles button. Mail dialog appears.
  3. Make sure Prompt for a profile to be used option is selected and click Add button.
  4. Enter Profile Name in the dialog and press OK.
  5. In the Add New E-mail Account wizard fill Your Name and E-mail Address fields.
  6. In the Exchange login prompt enter your mailbox login EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au and password.
  7. Outlook will try to discover your mailbox settings over secure internet connection. You could be prompted to allow Outlook to perform redirection from one site (unsecure) to another (secure). Allow this redirection.

 

Outlook 2007/2010/2013 Configuration Script

 

  1. Click on the following link to  Download Outlook Profile Configuration Script and save it locally.
  2. Make sure Outlook application is not running.
  3. Run the script you have downloaded by double clicking on it.
  4. Outlook profile will be configured and Outlook will be started.
  5. In the login prompt enter your Exchange mailbox login EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au and password.
  6. Select newly-created outlook profile Administration (admin) from Choose profile dialog and enter again your Exchange mailbox login and the password.

 

Advanced Outlook Configuration

 

If you do not want to use script to automatically configure Outlook profile, you can download textual file containing settings to connect to your mailbox and import it manually.

  1. Click on the following link to  Download Outlook Profile and save it locally, e.g. as "C:\OutlookProfile.prf".
  2. Make sure Outlook application is not running.
  3. Open Start > Run and execute the following command: 
    outlook.exe /importprf "C:\OutlookProfile.prf"
  4. This will restart Outlook and you will be asked to accept the new profile settings, click Yes.
  5. In the login prompt enter your Exchange mailbox login EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au and password.
  6. Select newly-created outlook profile Administration (admin) from Choose profile dialog and enter again your Exchange mailbox login and the password.

If you are advanced user and experienced in mail client configuration you can use the following parameters to configure connection to Exchange server:

  • Microsoft Exchange server: b0271cab847a41f88af9e33a4985f4b0@croydonpanels.com.au
  • E-mail Address: EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au
  • User name: EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au
  • Proxy Server: exchange.openconnect.com.au
  • Proxy Authentication settings: Basic Authentication.
 

Configuring Outlook 2011 for Mac to Connect Exchange Server

  1. Open Outlook 2011 for Mac
  2. Open Tools > Accounts....
  3. On the displayed page click on the + sign in the bottom left corner and then click Exchange....
  4. Fill out the following fields:
    • Enter EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au in the E-mail address field.
    • In the Method drop-down select User Name and Password.
    • Enter EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au in the Username field.
    • Enter your password to the Password field.
    • Make sure that the Configure automatically checkbox is checked.
  5. Click Add Account.
  6. If the Outlook was redirected to the server... request will be displayed, check the Always use my response for this server checkbox and click the Allow button.
  7. Enter your name in the Account description field


 

Configuring Microsoft Office Outlook 2013 to Connect Mailbox via POP3

  1. Open Outlook
  2. On the File tab, click Account Settings. The Account Settings window is displayed. The E-mail tab is opened by default showing all your set up e-mail accounts (if there any).
  3. Click New. The Add New E-mail Account Wizard starts. You are prompted to Choose E-mail Account.
  4. Select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types radio button at the bottom of the Wizard screen, and then click Next.
  5. On the Choose Service page, select Internet E-mail, and then click Next. The Internet E-mail Settings window is displayed. Provide the following information in the available fields:
    • Your Name: type in your name that will be shown to your e-mail recipients in the From: field.
    • E-mail AddressEMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au
    • Account Type: select POP3.
    • Incoming mail serverexchange.openconnect.com.au
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP)smtpauth.openconnect.com.au
    • User NameEMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au
    • Password: type in your password.
  6. Click More Settings. The multi-tabbed window is displayed.
  7. Move to the Outgoing Server tab, and then select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox. Then click Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  8. Move to the Advanced tab. Advanced properties of your e-mail account are displayed. Configure them as follows:
    • Under Incoming server (POP3), next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select SSL in the drop-down list.
    • Under Outgoing server (SMTP), next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select TLS in the drop-down list.
  9. Click OK to save your changes.
  10. On the Add New Account page, click Next. After Outlook tests your account, click Close to close the Test Account Settings dialog box.
  11. Click Next, and then click Finish.
 

How to configure Microsoft Outlook Express to connect mailbox via POP3

  1. Start Outlook Express. Choose Tools > Accounts from the menu on the top.
  2. Click Add button and choose Mail.
  3. Display Name: Type your mailbox display name Administration and click Next.
  4. E-mail address: Type your e-mail address EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au and click Next.
  5. Choose My incoming server is a POP3 server from the dropdown box. Fill in mail server information:
    • Incoming mail serverexchange.openconnect.com.au
    • Outgoing mail serversmtpauth.openconnect.com.au
    • Click Next.
  6. Fill in logon information:
    • Account name: Type your login EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au.
    • Password: Type your mailbox password.
    • Click Next, then click Finish.
  7. Select mail account named exchange.openconnect.com.au and click Properties button. 
  8. Switch to the Servers tab.
    In the Outgoing Mail Server check My server requires authentication.
  9. Switch to the Advanced tab.
    In the Server Port Numbers check both This server requires a secure connection (SSL)
    Click OK.

Configuring Apple Mail 2 to Connect Mailbox via POP3

  1. Open Apple Mail 2.
  2. Click Mail, and select Preferences.
  3. Click the plus sign (+) at the bottom to add a new account.
  4. Set Account Type as POP and fill out the following fields:
    • Enter Account Description.
    • Enter your name in Full Name field.
    • Enter EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au to the Email Address field.
  5. Click on Continue.
  6. Fill out the following fields:
    • Your Name: type in your name that will be shown to your e-mail recipients in the From: field.
    • Incoming mail serverexchange.openconnect.com.au
    • User NameEMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au
    • Password: type in your password. 
  7. Click on Continue twice.
  8. Fill out the following fields:
    • Outgoing mail serversmtpauth.openconnect.com.au
    • Check the Use Authentication checkbox.
    • User NameEMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au
    • Password: type in your password. 
  9. Click on Continue twice.
  10. Click on Done.
  11. Click on Server Settings
  12. Check the Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) checkbox. Click on OK.
  13. Select the Advanced subtab. Check the Use SSL checkbox.
  14. Close the current window.
  15. Click on Save.
 

Configuring Outlook 2011 for Mac to Connect Mailbox via POP3

  1. Open Outlook 2011 for Mac
  2. Open Tools > Accounts...
  3. On the displayed page click on the + sign in the bottom left corner and then click E-mail...
  4. Fill out the following fields:
    • Enter EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au in the E-mail address field.
    • Enter your password to the Password field.
    • Enter EMAIL@YOURDOMAIN.com.au in the Username field.
    • In the Type drop-down select POP.
    • Enter exchange.openconnect.com.au in the Incoming server field.
    • Check the Use SSL to connect (recommended) checkbox under the Incoming server field.
    • Enter smtpauth.openconnect.com.au in the Outgoing server field.
    • Check the Use SSL to connect (recommended) checkbox under the Outgoing server field.
  5. Click Add Account.
  6. Enter your name in the Account description field.
  7. Click More Options...
  8. In the Authentication drop-down select Use Incoming Server Info.
  9. Click OK.
