After installed on your computer, it starts to change your browser settings that results in homepage being redirected to search.snap.do, and default search engine being changed to snap.do search engine.

Step 1 > Uninstall search.snap.do from your computer.

Step 2 > Remove Search.snap.do homepage and Search.snap.do search engines from IE/FF/Chrome.

Step 1 > Uninstall search.snap.do from your computer.

 

Follow the instruction that corresponds to your operating system to uninstall snap.do virus.

 

• Windows XP:Go to Start> Control Panel> Add Remove programs> Look for snap.do > Click on Remove.

 

• Windows 7/Vista: Go to Start> Control panel> Uninstall a program/Programs and Features> Look for snap.do > click on Uninstall.

 

After you select uninstall you will be prompted to “close all internet browsers”, clickYes.

 

You will be promoted again to change your Home Page and default Search provider to the “old settings” (Your normal, safe settings), click Yes. If another prompt appears which states your settings could not be found, etc, that is okay. You will just not have a set up homepage, but may have to delete the additional search engine settings (described below).

 

 

 

Step 2 > Remove Search.snap.do homepage and Search.snap.do search engines from IE/FF/Chrome.

 

Remove Search.snap.do homepage and Search.snap.do search engines in Firefox: 

1. Open Mozilla Firefox. Go to Tools → Add-ons. Select Extensions and then remove Snap.do extension from the list.

 

2. Click on the Snap.do search icon as shown in the image below and select Manage Search Engines….

 

Select Snap.do from the list and click Remove to remove it. Click OK to save changes.

 

 

3. Please continue and go to Mozilla Firefox navigate to Tools > Options. Under the General tab remove feed.snap.do from the “Home Page” filed and replace with your preferred home page.

 

4. In the URL address bar, type about:config and hit Enter.

 

Click I’ll be careful, I promise! to continue.

 

 

In the filter at the top, type: snap.do

 

 

You will be presented with all the preferences that were changed by Snap.do extension. Right-click on the preference and select Reset to restore default value. Please reset all found preferences!

Remove Search.snap.do homepage and Search.snap.do search engines in Google Chrome:

1. Please open your browser, go to Google Chrome Settings, in the “On Startup” area, please click on Set pages.

 

 

 

You will be forwarded to Startup pages, in this page, please click on the X button to delete Search.snap.do

 

 

 

 

2. Please continue and go to Appearance area, and then click Change.

 

 

Remove http://feed.snap.do/publisher=snapdowebsites from the Open this page tab and then Select Use the New Tab page and click OK to save changes.

 

3. You should move forward and go to Search area, click on Manage Search Engines…

 

Select Google orany other search engine you like from the list and make it your default search engine provider, and then select search.snap.do from the list and remove it by clicking the “X” mark as shown in the imag

 

 

 

Important notice: If you are not allowed to remove browser extension on your Google Chrome or change your Google Chrome settings, please go to remove the related registry entries before you remove the extension.

1. Go to Start menu, type “regedit” (without quotes) and then enter.

 

2. In the Registry Editor, select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE, then select Policies > Google > Chrome > ExtensionInstallForcelist.

 

NB: If you cannot find ExtensionInstallForcelist in this place, try selecting HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE, then select Policies > Google > Chrome > ExtensionInstallForcelist.

 

Remove the registry key which has a Data value the same as the extension’s ID which you wrote down or saved above. Right click on the registry key and select Delete. Accept the warning by selecting Yes.

 

4.       Remove the extension’s files

 

Press the Windows Key+R and type:

 

Windows Vista/ 7/8 users: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions

Windows XP users: %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions

 

Find the folder with the ID of the extension and delete it.
